Landing a hit on an enemy already under 15% HP ends the battle right there — a KO, never a death roll — and against a foe that low the strike can't be dodged. One exception: a fighter holding an unspent Phase 2 isn't ended, it's FORCED into its second phase. No prolonged goodbyes.
Attack and defense climb as your HP falls — up to +6 each at death's door. Cornered is when it turns dangerous.
