Landed hits have a 10% chance to mix up the enemy's next two offensive turns. Each has a 30% chance to hit its own outline for half-strength damage, capped at 8% max HP. Backfires cannot crit or trigger attack effects.
5% chance on each landed hit to stun the enemy's next action (its attack). A little zap, a lot of standing there confused.
Once magic ≥ 12, casts every 2nd turn instead of every 3rd, and each cast hits +3 harder. Show-off, but the math checks out.
